 TEATRO EN ESPAÑOL (LATINO) EN LOS ANGELES

1. Dos preguntas que deberíamos responder antes de hacer teatro en español en Los Angeles:

   *¿Porque hacemos teatro?

   *¿Cual debería ser la función del teatro en nuestra sociedad?

2. ¿Estamos realmente pensando en nuestro público a la hora de hacer la selección de nuestras producciones? Aún cuando el language es importante, el contenido de las producciones debería ser más aún.

3. No se trata solamente de halagar a nuestro público, sino de educarlo.

4. Crear compañías te permite desarrollar un compromiso mayor contigo y con tú público; produciendo trabajos originales, teniendo un variado repertorio y temporadas mas largas.

5. El público en general, pero sobre todo el public nuevo debería ser expuesto a diferentes obras de diferentes compañías para que este pueda desarrollar un buen gusto y una sensibilidad que le ayuden a escoger y a exigir lo que desea ver.

SPANISH (LATINO) THEATER IN LOS ANGELES

1. Two questions we should answer before we start doing Spanish theatre in LA:

   -Why we do Spanish Theater?

   -Which should be the role of Spanish theatre in our society?

2. Are we really thinking about our audience when we do the selection of our productions? Although, language is important, the content of our productions should be even more.

3. It’s not only about pleasing the audience but educating it.

4. Creating companies allows you to develop a stronger commitment with yourself and with your audience; producing original works, having a varied repertoire and longer runs.

5. In general but especially new Latino Spanish speakers audience, at one on point should be exposed to different works from different companies, so they can develop a good taste and a sensitivity to choose and to demand what they want to see.
