LESSONS & ACTIVITIES
Module 1: Rapunzel Alone
Listen to Rapunzel Alone
(70 min)
Listen to the audio drama, Rapunzel Alone. As you listen encourage students to:
Listen for each of the characters? What sounds or specific dialogue gives you clues about each character?
Imagine what the scene or setting would look like? What sounds do you hear that give you clues about the setting?
Write down feelings or questions that come up for you? What do you think a specific character might be feeling? How is that emotion communicated? Is there a moment or character with whom you have a connection?
Characters and Dialogue
(20 min)
After listening to the full play, get to know each of the characters and major themes through an exploration of the dialogue.
In small groups, have students choose a character and scene to explore. Use the audio excerpts and the CHARACTERS & DIALOGUE student worksheet to help guide the exploration.
Who are the characters in your scene?
What do you know about them? (What are some facts?)
What might they be feeling?
What in the narration or dialogue gives you clues about the characters?
What do you think they need? Who do they need it from?
