Lights Up on a Brand School Year!

Most theatres consider the summer months to be “dark” time, a period where productions are replaced by filing, archiving, cleaning and other tasks that secretly go undone throughout the year. But this summer we’ve produced a lot of events: two outdoor movies in the parking lot, two weeks of Summer ‘Cool, several professional development workshops for educators, and even a couple of summer Enter Stage Right performances.  In LA, summer is shorter than ever this year with school starting back earlier than usual.  So we just looked up and...school is back in session! We haven’t even had time to edit the new footage of Jack Black that we shot for this year’s field trips.  So a busy summer leads us to a busy school year.  This year we’re looking forward to serving thousands of students and teachers in Culver City schools, Burbank schools, Compton schools, and of course, the second largest district in the nation, LAUSD.  Let the fun begin!  Email Angela Gordon  for Enter Stage Right field trip info.  Time to start booking your field trips...already.

La mayoría de los teatros consideran a los meses de verano como un tiempo "oscuro", un período donde las producciones son reemplazadas por otras funciones como, reorganizar, archivar, limpiar y otras tareas que secretamente se van quedando sin hacer durante todo el año. Pero este verano hemos producido una gran cantidad de eventos: dos películas al aire libre en el estacionamiento, dos semanas de nuestro programa de After ‘Cool de verano, varios talleres de desarrollo profesional para educadores, e incluso un par de funciones de Enter Stage Right. Este año en Los Ángeles, el verano es más corto que nunca ya que las escuelas comienzan de nuevo antes de lo habitual. Así que apenas parpadeamos y... la escuela ya está de vuelta en sesión! Ni siquiera hemos tenido tiempo de editar el nuevo material de Jack Black que filmamos para las excursiones a las funciones de Enter Stage Right de este año. Así que, un verano muy ocupado nos lleva a un año escolar bastante ocupado también. Este año, estamos ansiosos de servir a miles de estudiantes y profesores en las escuelas de Culver City, de Burbank, de Compton, y por supuesto, el segundo distrito más grande de la nación, el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Los Angeles (LAUSD). ¡Que empiece la diversión!
